This 135-year-old Victorian duplex in the heart of Eureka was lovingly renovated into two comfortable and modernly-appointed units. The original exterior features of the Eastlake-style home were carefully restored to preserve the original 1880’s craftsmanship seen throughout the neighborhood, while a down-to-the-studs remodeling of the interiors updated the spaces for modern living.
Each unit features 3 bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms, with plenty of natural light thanks to custom-made, wood-framed and historically-accurate windows. New flooring was installed throughout. New electrical and plumbing were installed and new HVAC systems included a new high-efficiency heat pump and new insulation to increase efficiency. The kitchens and bathrooms received new cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and appliances.
Exterior work included a new roof and repairs to siding, skirting and trim. All exterior decorative elements of architectural millwork were carefully refurbished and the entire home was repainted. The preservation efforts of the Revival team in restoring the exterior details and windows led to this project being recognized with a Preservation Award from the Eureka Heritage Society in 2024.
